The scotch egg has three conflicting origin stories
A department store in London claims to have invented it in 1738
A British cookbook claims also claim to be the inventor of the scotch egg in 1809
The other theory is it has been adapted from the snack India koftas
A kofta is a meatball made of meat and onion
Recipe
Divide the sausage meat
Then flatten the sausage meat
Cook a soft boil egg and place egg in the center of the sausage
Sprinkle bread crumbs
Wrap egg then fry in oil
The once cooked through drain oil
